Huge thank-you to Keith and the crew at Big Bear Guide Service for an amazing hunt.  Took a lot of hours in the woods for me to take this trophy, 365 pound bear.  And from the bottom of my heart to my dad for introducing me to the outdoors pretty much from birth.  And for sitting with me shivering and also being encouraging every time he looked at the watch saying, "It could be any minute now".

I have been at Keith's bear camp each of the past 7 years as either a hunter or assisting a hunter (video) and have had nothing but positive experiences.  Keith, Wayne, and their team put in a tremendous amount of energy and resources to provide a positive experience.  I look forward to the opportunity to return as either a hunter or an observer in the future.

My name is Mick Smith.  I have hunted with Big Bear Guide Service two times.  I went up there a week before season and went baiting with them every day.  I was a bear guide in Canada for eight years so I know about baiting bear.  Everything they did was the same way that I baited.  They asked me how big of a bear I wanted, I told them 300 plus.  I hunted with them two times now and shot a 400 pound sow and and 350 pound boar that measured 19 3/8 inch.  Keith and his son Wayne are very good at what they do and they are great guys to be around.  I know they will do everything they can do to get you a bear.  On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) they are a 10.

I have taken three bear and a bobcat with Big Bear Guide Service.  My wife and son have also taken bear with Keith and Wayne.  Over the years between myself, family, and relatives, we have taken 18 bear with Big Bear Guide Service.  Numerous friends of mine have also had successful hunts.  Everyone who has gone up with Keith that I know has had a successful hunt.

Having gone on a number of guided hunts I have a list of attributes that I look for when choosing an outfitter;  knowledge, passion, and commitment to hunter success are a few.  Big Bear Guide Service came through and exceeded what I've come to expect from an outfitter.

Great overall experience.  Came up with 3 guys for 2018 bear season.  Two of us got a bear opening day and the other missed one on day 2 and is still working on his redemption shot.  Dave Schulz worked hands on with us making sure we knew exactly how to get to our bait sites.  What to expect and answered my dozens of questions clearly.  When I pulled the trigger and called Dave, even though he was tracking another bear, he had someone by me in less than 15 minutes.  When the time comes, I will be back.

My wife and me are hunters for 45 years.  We were hunting with Africa, mountains of Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado.  We hunt bears in British Columbia, Manitoba, and at Big Bear Guide Service in Iron River, WI guided by Keith and Wayne Holly.  Both of us got big bears.  This one was most beautiful hunting experience we had in our life.  Keith, Wayne, and Lory are professional, friendly, and hard working.  I was lucky enough to harvest a 34 pound bobcat.  We highly recommend Keith's Big Bear Guide Service for those lucky enough to get license permit to harvest bear or bobcat.

I have been hunting bear with Keith Holly's team for over 25 years and I have never seen a more professional and organized operation.  Many of the hunters come back every year, whether they have a tag or not, just to enjoy the great atmosphere the hunters enjoy when being around Keith and his family.  And one of those hunters that just loves being around other hunters in a clean, Christian surrounding.

I received a Wisconsin bear tag for 2017.  I was pretty excited as I married into a big family of hunters.  I scheduled my hunt as soon as I found out with Keith at Big Bear Guide Service.  I couldn't wait!  My son Matt sat with me the first day of the hunt.  We saw 10 different bear come into the bait.  One of the bear decided to come down the trail about 5 feet away of us, stopped, looked at us for about 3 minutes and then backed up and took another route to the bait pile.  All of this happened 30 yards from our ground blind.  Then later that same day, two bigger bear came in and I shot the bigger of the two bear.  I was so excited and about 4 minutes later I heard the death moan.  I called Keith to let him know and the crew showed up to retrieve my bear.  It was so awesome!  Thanks to Keith at Big Bear Guide Service and everyone who made my hunt a truly amazing experience.  It is something I will never forget and can't wait to go again.
