Fisher Trapping
The north woods of Wisconsin has a sustainable and healthy fisher population. We offer 5 days of trapping with additional days available if needed. Primarily we trap fishers from season opener (mid October) into November. When the snow really starts flying we switch gears over to bobcat hunting. The weather can be ever changing that time of year, so be sure to bring layers of appropriate clothing.
You must hold a current WI Northern Zone Fisher Harvest Tag, and have a current WI trapping license to trap. You will also need trap tags with your information on them. Currently, it takes a minimum of 2 preference points to draw a harvest permit, but the average lately has been 4. The deadline to apply for a fisher harvest tag is August 1st. We have been lucky enough to have 100% success rate almost every year.
Fishers are quite elusive and solitary animals. It's not very often you have the opportunity to see one bounding through the woods. If you are interested in going on a fisher trapping adventure, or would like more info about trapping, please feel free to give us a call. 715-815-0155
